Hello from Finland!
I have one 1950 model in Finland.
It is Mercury M47 and it is project car.
It maybe back on the road again in 2009!
Please,take a look at the pictures: http://www.mercuryman.fi
Jori
If the underside of the ornament has a 6 digit number beginning with 3, it's a 1948/51 Packard "Pelican" hood ornament (the base and wings are missing).
No number underneath, it's a JC Whitney item (they still sell it).
Ok. Thank You!!
Yes, I have try to find the missing parts before I´ll start to fix it up.
Please tell me more links where I can find parts!
Thank You all
Jori

55 f350 ask: -all of of 'em yours or other guy's ?
-Yes all of them are mine!
We have collect Mercurys for a six years with my wife!
We dont sell cars or parts, we only collect.
Yes You are right!
The car is inside now because we have a lot of snow in winter!
In summer I´ll take the rust out and put the primer after that I´ll put it back to carage. I´ll start to restore it in next winter so it is back on the road summer 2009...I´ll hope!
We have just now in process Mercury (James Dean model) from 1950 and Ford Maverick from 1973. James Dean will be like it was in 1950.
Maverick gonna be little different. New engine (Ford Motorsport GT-40), new brakes and new almost everything. I´m gonna take out over 400 hp.
The M47 I´m going to restore like it was in 1950!
Thank You all
It is nice to be a member...!!!!!!!!
Can you splat cheap paint on the rusted areas to stabilise those parts?
Do you have welding and metal working facilities?
Let me find a link for you....
Understand- this is not a link that competes with FTE. it is much different.
These people I believe can teach all of us how to work metal to a depth degree and fine-ness that seems mysterious these days.
They are old time hotrodders, and some of what you find there is profane. They speak as they want, but they know what they can do, and it is amazing.
