Hey guys. Thanks in advance for all the great information on this site, it has been a great resource for a first time diesel owner.
Here is my concern. I have a 06 F250 FX4 shortbed crewcab with the 6.0 diesel engine. The other day I went to back into a parking spot and the truck stuttered and jerked before it caught and starting back up. The only way to describe it is that it felt like the rear end kept slipping and then caught. I then noticed the other day while pulling a 18k pound box trailer that when I accelerated from a stop the truck would begin to move, then jerk or bump and then continue to accelerate.
My truck has 51k miles on it and I had the transmission fluid changed about a week prior to the first incident.
Any ideas or suggestions? I am getting ready to head out on vacation pulling my 5th wheel and I'm a little nervous.
I may be way off base, but, it may be the fuel side of things. How long since you have changed filters? Which filters do you use? Same questions w/ the oil. Your write up does not sound like you are 100% sure the issue is in the drivetrain ....
If all the previous stuff is OK, I would start by pulling the EGR and seeing if it needed cleaning. If you could see if any DTC's exist (maybe Autozone, OReilly's, etc could read them), this may give you a lead.
