why do the brakes on my f-150 keep locking up when i when i first push to apply the brakes after the truck is first started in the morning or after it has been sitting for a a while (over night)they lock up only once and after that it seems fine until the next morning?
I have done a little research and i have found some stuff on a praportioning valve but im not quite sure so any information will be helpful.
if anyone has any information pleeze send it to me
Does this only happen when the overnight temp goes below 32?
The factory original brake shoes are hygroscopic ("love" water), so when the temp falls below freezing they ice up and expand. I had the same problem. Never had the problem again after replacing the stock shoes with $15 aftermarket ones.
thanx man i thank you for the info and yes the temp does drop below 32 most nights when this happens i thank you again i will have it checked out and fixed
