larger then 15's??

hi im new to this forum. ive had an 84 f-150 for a few years now. its not on the road right now and i was looking around on the internet and i cant find any 17 or so inch rims that i could put on it (its got the 5x5.5 bolt pattern). its a 2wd so i was going for a bit of a sport truck look. ill be putting sway arms on the front and back. aswell as lowering it a little (not much).

cliffs on my truck:
1984 f-150 (67K miles)
factory red (faded)
302 with a 2bbl (will be changed when i get money)
C6 tranny
4.10 rearend gears
wanna make it a pretty truck
cant find rims over 15"

Have you tried ebay? You might have to buy new ones.

If the wheels came from a durango, they could be 6 lug. I know the newer dodge 1/2 ton trucks use the 5x5.5 pattern. I believe someone on this forum put newer 17" OEM dodge wheels on there truck.

i think they were newer becasue they deffinately weren't 6 lug. the only problem is the dodge symbol on the rim. i guess thats kinda nittpicky though. id love to do it if they were cheap (like 50 bucks a piece with tires on them). oh well.

Yeah, I think it was only the first generation of durango/dakota that had the 6 lug wheels. You could get rid of the dodge emblem if you wanted to, I'm sure you would get plenty of ideas from here. Keep checking craigslist, I see factory take off's all the time for any where from $100-$400 for a set, and usually they even have good tires still.

You gotta watch yourself w/ dodge rims. I tried some 1500 Series off of my uncle's 1997 Ram 4wd on my 1986 F-150 2wd. The dodge rims had an inner diameter smaller than that of the Ford's so they didn't clear the hub. I forget the dimensions but the Dodge rims had an inner clearance diameter of like .5" smaller.
I got a my rims from jegs. Their website is kinda confusing so you gotta know where to look.
