Dana 60?

Thinking about converting my F250 4x4 to a dually. My questions is what is the differences between a DRW 60 and my SRW 60. I know they use larger studs. I've been told that they are about 2" wider. Is the housing wider or the hub offset different? I'm assuming perch width is the same.

Different hubs. you can find somebody with a duallie front who wants singles. You can trade your hubs plus cash for theirs typically.

Sorry I'm referring to the rear axle. I found spacers that will work for the front. I'm wanting to know how much narrower my rear axle would be if I simply bored my rear hub and rotor for the 9/16 studs vs. using a DRW hub. Are the rear housings the same width?

P.S. I'm also going to run a flat bed, so offset for fender clearance is not a problem.

Your rear brakes will not clear the tires. Why not buy a D70 dually rear end, which is better suited for what you need? It has a higher hauling capacity, greater by about 1400#, handles more abuse, has larger diameter shafts. and has larger shoes, 12x3 instead of 12x2.5. A GM corporate 14B is another option, tough as nails, and 13x3.5" brakes. Rear disc brakes are another option.

X2. The 60 is not designed to carry the load that a DRW can haul. I have witnessed the carnage that running DRW conversions on a D60 can do. It isn't pretty. There are plenty of later model Fords and other brands out there to rob a real DRW axle from.

Makes since. I may have a line on a good 14B DRW axle. Anyone one happen to know what the distance is b/w the perches on a Chevy? Am I lucky enough for it to be a bolt in swap?

You might have to cut them off and re-position them.
