Early 99 Cali's do NOT have the AIH- I know as I have one. And, that list was originally posted by none other than yours truly, why does Ron get the credit?
EDIT- my early 99 also has the door badges- not a good way to judge early vs. late.
Well see....I am having difficulty in finding this. Some people have told me what what I am thinking is my tranny cooler is my steering cooler and I am all just confused.
The big list above stated that the 1999 early units didn't have one....so I am totally wacked out on what to think. ~LOL~
I don't have a pic, but first right behind is your PS cooler, which is about 4x12 inches or so. Then behind that is your AC radiator, then behind that is your tranny cooler. Do yourself a favor, junk that one and replace it with a 6oh cooler. You just gotta wallow out the upper monting holes about 1/4" maybe 3/8" toward the outside to get it to fit the frame mounts. Also make up some brass 5/16" to 1/2" nipples for the hoses (I got 1/2" fuel hose from west marine) and hold them together with screw clamps, not the junk spring clamps Ford uses. Easy and quick 20-50* temp difference

What "the list" say is that the trans cooler on an early isn't in the radiator- its external. Mongo's got ya covered for finding it. You could always do it the hard way too- follow the trans lines up to the front and see where they go.

Thank you thank you....that was basically the reason I am asking is preparation for the upgrade. I am browsing for a replacement unit now to put on.
