Hey everyone,
I need some help with a no fuel issue I have going on. A few days ago MY fuel system started acting up in my 86 F-150 302 EFI. The fuel pumps weren't running when the key was turned on. I changed the relay and fixed some crappy wiring to the relay and it fired right up. I haven't had any problems until yesterday, my truck quit running on my way home. I checked to see if my pumps were running and nothing. So I figured I burned up a pump because I could still hear the relay clicking. I took the in-line pump put today to test it and it is functioning properly. Any ideas why I'm not getting power to my pumps all of a sudden? Is there anything I should look at that could cause this? Thanks for your help.
I had something similar happen a few months ago. Make sure your EEC grounds are good. You should have one that runs right to the negative battery post. The other will run to a stud near the wiper motor.
Yeah,
I looked at the one that goes to the battery briefly tonight and it seems its connected ok. What about the plug or whatever it is on that wire about 6 inches from the battery. Is there something there that goes bad? I didn't look at the other ground but I will tomorrow. THanks.
I went out today to check the grounds and the one on the battery was barely connected. I went and reconneted that and now the pumps run. Still the truck won't start. I tried ether thinking the fuel lines are empty and nothing. I've already replaced the coil and control module before I had the fuel problems so I don't know where to go from here
