External oil line, how much pressure difference?
How much pressure do you think I can gain to my rear bearings at idle? I might do this and also put an air cooler in, but I don't want to cause any resistance and loose the pressure boost.
My opinion on that external line is that it is a gimmick that has no real benefit unless the motor has had extensive mods to the oiling system, and gets spun over 9000 rpm. Most guys make it harder than it needs to be for what we do with them.
The only reason youi see a pressure increase on your guage with it, is because you are taking oil directly from the pump, and getting that reading on your guage.
I dont use that line in my race cleveland, and it gets spun 7500 rpm on each gear change, and at the end of a season, (last year I put 335 passes on the car all of which were in the low 10's), the main bearings looked brand new, and the rod bearings looked good enough to use over.
