I have a '99 F-350 PS 7.3 CC Lariat 4X4 LB with 146K. I bought her used and she has been the best investment I've ever made. Originally, I intended to do all the tuner mods, but she runs so well and is so reliable, I've decided that "if she ain't broke, don't fix her!"
The one thing she do need is an upgrade in the grill area. I thought about an aftermarket billet grill, but have now decided that I like the '05-'07 factory chrome fascia. Has anyone adapted the late model fascia to an early front end? Is it possible or am I biting off more than I can handle for a simple DIY'er?
I am aware that mounting points would have to be adapted, but are the lines for the 2 styles close enough to interchange?
If anyone has experience, please let me know. Thanks in advance, Chardagha
Very common. Check out ebay and there's some sellers on there that offer cut down grilles to fit the "older" bumpers and reposition the clips. I did this to my brothers 02 Excursion. Looks great with the added billet.
I just did the 05 Harley lights to my truck with the 99 grille. I've got a wide mouth billet grille in my truck and I think it looks really good!
I bought a 05 grill from Fords for $180.00 and cut in down myself using a Dremel.
Not hard to do, just need to take your time. I think i had to take off about 3/4" from the bottom.
If you choose to cut your own, i can take pics to show you how i fasten the bottom.
