I need a comparison of all trucks to buy a topper/cap for my 1971 Ford F100 longbed. I have a dimension of 73'' wide x 100'' long. I think it is correct.
What other trucks -especially newer ones could I cross-reference for the same size of a cap/topper.
I asked around and thought to ask you guys. I know the rear window area will have to be the same--but is there a newer truck I can look for to get a cap?
Thanks and I am in Ohio in case someone has 1 for sale. Bill
My '67 has a tonneau cover from a '96 model truck. The bed dimensions were just about the same and it fits perfect.
The only issue you might find with a hard topper is the bed rails might not be the right contour to fit perfect. A cap will be more forgiving, as it doesn't usually fall over the side of bedrail.
So if I see a cap for a 96 or so with 73x100'' it should fit? I drove 175 miles today looking and it is tough in 10 degree weather in Ohio......thanks......Bill
I'd say a std cap would fit pretty well. Not sure how it would line up with top of cab? Not sure height differences between the years? You looking for a fancy cap or older alum style?
Frito and Freight-train thanks and I think a cap from a ford truck measuring 73 x 100 will work or at least hope so. There should be a truck comparison guide for all beds so people can figure what new truck covers will fit older trucks.....Bill
I have a cap for sale thats on my '72. Its only road on the truck for 2000m. Only 1/2 price of what I paid for it... Only prob is that I live in Nv. Pic on my gallery.
