Yet another intake gasket question...

While we're on the subject...I am replacing the intake in the motor I am currently working on...Do I need to buy new...the large aluminum looking piece(I think thats the intake gasket? I assume I WILL have to buy the rubber seals on the ends. Or can I use my old intake gasket if not damaged?

I'd replace it. I know it looks more like a hard part than a gasket and it's pretty spendy for a stupid gasket but you risk having vaccuum leaks and poor driveability if you don't, especially if you're putting a different intake on.

Yet another intake gasket question...

I just used 351C 2V intake gaskets with a silicone bead for the end seal.

Yet another intake gasket question...

It is nice to have the aluminum pan to keep hot oil off the underside of the intake. You can use the old pan piece if you trim it to work with new 2V intake gaskets (try Fel-Pro Print-to-seal gaskets). Punch a drain hole to let any oil that gets up in the pan out. Depending on your end seal gap I try to use the end gaskets and cement them to the block so they stay in position. I use a little grease on the top of them to make the intake easier to get off next time. If you get the surfaces clean enough for the silicone to work well it sometimes sticks too good. Plus I don't like excess silicone goober finding it's way into the oil pan.

Check to be sure your intake fits with the heads and block properly.
