4x4 Swap

I found this on Ebay, it looks to me like he welded a later 70's 4x4 chassis to the stock 4x2 chassis?

I wonder what the hell he did with the steering column shaft to get it to reach down to the second frame box? I like how it got hung up on the car and started to endo.. I love big tires on little axles. Looks like an arb line running down in the front.... Something else ghetto?
