Cobra IRS...
...welllllllllll.....I got an email from Dave at www.truckirs.com:
"The differential, axles and spindles are the same - or similar enough - but the mounts are completely different... I have looked into adapters to mount the Cobra style subframe, but not close enough to make work with the ford chassis... so far the T bird / Cougar / Mark 8 IRS units have been cheap and easy to come by for my customers, where the Cobra IRS units are getting expensive and scarce. I don't think I want to invest a couple thousand in the Cobra IRS when I don't think I'd recoup it for quite awhile - if ever... especially when I have an existing solution with the others."

SOOOOOOO...might have to rethink this...seems nobody makes a "kit" to adapt
this IRS to a '56 & I don't want to be the one that figures it out...
ANYBODY have a pic of an IRS (Explorer???) installed in a '56???
