Leveling Kits....need insight

Does a leveling kit void your warranty? I called the dealers and have heard different things. Anyone have any insight on this? I noticed there is a 2.5 inch and 3 inch kit. With the 3 inch kit, does the front end up higher than the back?

3" would be over level. I have the Autospring 2" and rides close to level but I know the 2.5" rides about exact but I always have a trailer behind me so I went with the 2". I think the warranty issue depends on the dealer. I have had mine on for over a year now and had warranty work to the front end twice and it was always covered.

Warranty: depends on the dealer. they installed them where I bought my truck, but then gave me a run-around when I discussed installing my 2.5". basically it comes down to them having to prove the kit caused the failure. at most, I can see the half-shafts and ball joints being voided

3": don't do it. I have the 2.5" and the truck sits exactly...and I mean exactly level. any real weight in the bed and she sits butt down. get the Autosprings 2" or 2.5" off eBay. it'll be the best $89 you've ever spent on your truck.

Anything not factory could void your warranty. It all depends on the dealer. Most will not allow warranty work, if the problem that occured was due to the aftermarket part you installed.. Personally, I had my leveling kit and rear add-a-leaf on and had driveline vibrations (not caused by the lift) and they didn't question me at all for warranty work or try and mess with my warranty.

The Ford dealership told me that if I proved that the kit was installed by a certified tech., then they would note it in their computer and it would not void the warranty. I installed a Ground Force 2" rear lowering kit (FX2) and I took the receipt to the dealership. They printed out a warranty supplement to go with my papers. This may be a different story if you install a front leveling kit?
