Any Ideas on getting the oil sending unit out of the manifold on a 351M. Its a 9/16 nut under the unit and you can only use a short open end wrench because its so close to the fire wall. I cant budge it.
I used a wrench that I bent into a 30* angle to clear the manifold. I thought I used a 5/8 wrench?? Worst case, you get a helper to hold the wrench while you kick it. (it sounds stupid, but that is what I think I wound up doing, using my foot, but that was forever and a year ago....) If you dont plan on re-using it,you could breakit off and get it with a socket? Not sure if its worth the labor tho.
Im replacing it. It seems to be leaking. Ive got an oil leak near the top of the engine but only when it is running. Im trying the cheapest fixes first. I dont think its the intake gasket. Ill try the bent wrench and foot method.
On a 351M the sending unit is on the block toward the back, behind the manifold. It's not actually on the manifold. is this a sending unit for an on\off light or an electrical gauge?
