transmission help

I one a 99 f-150 with 137,000 on it. Here is my problem, truck shifts fine when I ease on the gas but when I have to get on it (passing or on a hill or pulling trailer) I loose speed. Its not really a shudder but more of a soggy skipping slip. When it downshifts I really loose speed. Is this a bad trans or touque converter?? I just drained the TC and tranny and put fresh in. Seemed like alittle more than normal filing in pan. Is it time for a trans or is it something else. Need help.

which tranny and do you know the service history?

Probably time for a rebuild. Your frictions are likely slipping.

However, I'd throw a bottle of RED LubeGuard in there and see if you get lucky.
