Funny you mention that...that was MY plan as well. However, the monitor's posts that I bought were not wide enough for the stock headrest holes even though they were adjustable. Still...it worked out. I like the taller headrests anyway.
I really need 3rd row headrests also. My four kids are outgrowing their car seats and need to move on to boosters.
Can you please explain what you did a little further?
How secure / safe is the installation?
Did you install sleeves in the seat back?
If so, where did you get them and how are they attached?
Did you need to strip down the seat in order to mount them?
Please tell - I'm not about to sell the X and headrests would make things SOO much easier!
By the way, I did check with a shop but they wouldn't touch it in these sue crazy times.. Too much liability if an accident happens. (I'm in NJ)
Joe, if you click on my name you'll see the link for my gallery. I did a small DIY write-up. Let me know if I can help further. I'm travelling across the US right now and my Internet is spotty and I get too frustrated to type long replies on my iPhone but I'll get back to you.

Monsta, I love what you did with the head rests. Was it a difficult task and would you do it that way again? I am thinking of either doing what you did or making the third row head rests like they do on the front seats, all one piece. Any opinion either way?
