Toque converter is bad. If this has happened, you more than likely still have the original tranny cooler up front dont ya? Go price them at advanced and autozone, they arent too bad, you can put one in in a day if your mechanically inclined. took me about 6 hours for mine. Go get a 26k tranny cooler and get that installed too. Save your sefl some problems. I am 90 to 95 percent sure this is your problem. If its locking and unlocking, WITHOUT RPM SLIDE (I.E. if your cruisng at 60 and you give it just a TOUCH more fuel, the RPMS DONT slide up 10 or 200, they jump instantly 500 or more) then I would replace the sensor on top of the pumpkin. These are the two main problems. Te sensor is about 75 bucks and ten minutes, the converter is about 300 bucks and 6 hours. Hope this info helps. If you need a hand wrenching, you outta post where you are, I am sure someone can lend a hand from the site that knows what they are doing if you arent comfrortable with it.

does it do this only as it shifts or all the time once its in gear already? if its only when it makes the 3-4 shift then its the typical E4OD shift, there are many ways to remedy it,

if the rpm fluctuates up and down while its in OD then you have a problem

that sounds more like a torque converter clutch, but if it is doing it that noticable then it should be throwing a code and defaulting to max line pressure. are your shifts really hard?

hook the trailer up again and get the light flashing, then pull the code out, i bet its a torque converter clutch failure or an od incorrect gear ratio code.

yes, if its NOT doing 500 at a time, its the converter. If it jumps in and lets out, most of the time its the sensor. Do you have a tranny temp gauge or a friend with an edge evo??? Take if for a drive and let us know what your tranny fluid temp is. If its your converter slipping (which now I am 90 percent sure on) your fluid will get hot in a hurry.
