For the differences between the F250 and F350 you can look at the link below (need to scroll down) but to sum it up there is only the rear blocks, badges, and stickers that are different.
generally speaking without knowing the details of that truck, an F250 and F350 can tow the same amount of weight, but the F350 can haul more during the process. If the gears are 3.73, the F350 can tow and haul more. There may be some GWR differences between the two, but is more than likely related to wheel and tire packages. The down side, if you call it that, depending on the individual truck and state, your taxes may be higher for the F350.
External deminsions should be the same.
Any issues mechanically are not model specific....effects both F250 and F350.
Assume it has a gas engine, either the 5.4 V8 or the 6.8 V10. An ext. cab long bed F350 has the same wheelbase as the 250 ext cab long bed. This is a good time to buy a V10, with gas at all time highs. Sounds like a pretty good deal. Get an Oasis report
and see if it checks out.
An Oasis report shows any work that was done at a Ford dealership since the truck was put in service. A carfax like you mentioned shows ownership, title transfers, etc.
it is also a good tool in researching your truck
