Cab marker lights. Which power source?

Hi FTE. I have not posted in a long time. I read and study the forum daily however. I have installed a set of cab marker lights on 79 f-250 4X4 that I salvaged off a different truck. I was in a hurry and forgot to see which wire they were spliced onto coming from the headlight switch. I would like them to come on with the parking lights. These lights are not oem. They are from napa and are the one wire style with ground supplied by the screws into the cab roof. Can someone please save me a bit of trial and error and identify for me the correct wire to tap coming from the headlight switch? Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.

Roy

If in doubt use a test light to check the wires and see which one will work..

Thanks for the replies, guys. I of course did search the forum, but the only picture I found was lacking the actual connection point. I forgot to mention, that due to a back injury, I was trying to minimize the amount of time I need to spend looking up under the dash. Thank you whd507. I'll try the brown wire first.

if your back hurts, its almost easier and less painful to remove the dash cluster surround, as it will give you easy access to the wiring and the access hole.

It's a female "bullet" connector, and it has TWO brown wires attached to it. (One entering and one leaving)

Another word of thanks to whd507 is due. I just completed the hook up following your advice about removing the surround. Brown wire-bingo! Both my wrists are a bit scratched up,but my back was saved any abuse and the lights work fine. Thanks for the clear and concise advice.
