Unhappy ignition problem

I just bought a 1977 f-250 that had been sitting for a while when I got it home i noticed it wouldnt stay running. I found out the carb. needed to be rebuilt and in the process of the rebuild found an air leak in the line all said and done I got both of those problems fixed and now she starts up fine but when she starts to warm up a little she dies and when I try to restart hershe just cranks and cranks but wont turn over it takes about 10-15 minn. before she starts then she just rolles over and dies again....
Any sugestions on what is ailing her???
thanks.

Why do you think its an ignition problem and not a fuel problem?

Pull the oil dipstick and check for gas in the oil. When the internals of the fuel pump crap out? One of the signs is raw gas in the oil.

Well, might not be the cause of the problems...however gas in the oil is not a good thing. Might be better off replacing fuel pump, and doing a full oil change & filter change right afterwards. Ours poured out like water from the crankcase due to a faulty pump. Dumped quite a bit of gas into the oil. It might be just the smell from any blowby, however it could be the pump. It's a minor pain to replace, but I'd suggest it just for peace of mind.

the coil pickup in the distributor is a common culprit. dying when hot is a key sign. the control box being on the fender stays cooler, but is also failure prone. the wells unit at autozone has a lifetime warranty, so I often opt for that one.

crank it over after it dies with the coil wire lying close to ground to see if it sparks. if it does, then its likely a fuel issue running too rich flooding it out.
