I just had my local stealership do the CPS recall and then drove about 20 miles and stopped to fill up on diesel. On restarting, the truck stuttered and stalled. When restarted, the SES light came on and the DP Tuner F5 switch was dead i.e. no display. The truck ran in stock mode until I got home, and when I restarted it later everything was fine.
You are lucky, I'm sure it wasnt related but 3 days after the dealer changed my cps the HPOP died, 1409.00...........
I'm thinkin I'll be fixin it myself from here on, It happened 3 weeks after buying my '01 350.

I don't like this. Anyone ever heard of deliberate sabotage by a stealership. As greedy as they are nothing would ever surprise me.
Oh my my, I was anxiously wainting for my recall to show up in the mail now I'm not sure I want it! Can't wait to hear what others have to say about this.
Guess you could take it in and tell them you don't really want them to even open the hood. Tell them you did it yourself once and know there is really no reason to have the hood open. Or, I read here yesterday of one man just taking his recall in and getting the service dept. to simply give him a new one, he signed the repair sheet, they get paid by Ford and the new one goes in the glove compartment until needed. That is what I plan on doing.
I have not had a problem with my gray CPS yet. Most people that had problems were the ones with the black one. I changed my black CPS for another black one 01 - 07 and I was starting to have problems with that one. I have 2 gray ones in my glove box, but still went and had the dealer change the black one on my truck for the gray one.
Recieved my recall in the mail. I had already changed to the new gray one last fall I bought through Bob at Powerstroke. Called the local dealer to inquire about the recall and told them I aready changed to the new one. They said I should still bring my truck in and have the CPS tested . What do think ??? Hate to bring it in as long as its running like a top.
I'm going to take my truck in and just ask for a new one and if they don't give me one I will go to a dealer who will. I don't want them clowns fudging up my ride, I could do that on my own.
