Thumbs up Xentec HIDs Installed!

Before

After

Ballast Installed

Cutoff - Kind of a bad pic, but the cutoff is pretty decent

Another shot

They are 5000k hi/low and I got them off eBay from seller HID4U... they were shipped promptly and I got them in four days which is very fast for Alaska. Although it didn't come with a male H13 plug the install was pretty simple, I just spliced it into the plug off my DFUSER heavy duty wire harness. They are MUCH brighter than Silverstars or Xtravisions... overall I'm pleased and wouldn't hesitate to purchase another set.

That looks pretty bright, I like the color as it's not too blue. There are some I've seen driving around that make you wonder if the driver can see at all because they are almost purple.

What model truck do you have? I really like the black grill and bumper. I went off roading and banged mine up some so I need to replace some front end stuff. The headlights are out of kilter so even with Silverstar Ultras the pattern, while brighter, is uneven. I've been debating about going with a '05 front clip for my '03 because of the look and I have seen some posts that the '05 headlights give you more light and/or a better pattern.

I purchased the same kit from the same seller and one of the ballasts did not work. I tried contacting the seller multiple times, but they ignored me. Finally filed a complaint with Ebay and got my money back. I purchased from another seller on Ebay and everything worked great. I got the 6000K and its like driving during the daytime.

Are these HID upgrades legal with your local DOT laws? How much is everything for the install?

I wanted a pure white light and was hoping for a tiny bit of yellow or orange... I probably should have went with 4300k in retrospect but I still really like 'em.

thedaddycat, my truck is an XL that originally came with sealed beams... those really sucked. You don't have to do a full front end swap to put the 05+ lights in, just have to do some trimming to get them to fit.

6.0superduty, that sucks... maybe I was lucky to get good service?

Stroker4Life, adding aftermarket HIDs to any vehicle that didn't come with them is illegal. Even with proper retrofitting of OEM projectors off another vehicle. I've adjusted the aiming on my headlights a couple times to make sure I'm not glaring the crap out of other vehicles... nobody's flashed me once.

These are both hi/low and I paid $150 shipped... they charge $50 for shipping but I think that's just to squeeze more profit from eBay.

Get someone to drive your truck for you and then you drive in front of them and approach them. You'd be shocked how much glare there is.

I honestly don't think it produces any more glare than with a bright halogen bulb. Someone surely would have let me know, I live in a pretty small town and know about everybody.

I'll give it a try though...

They do produce glare because the halogen housings were designed for the halogen bulb and not the HID. Some housings are worse than others. My Mustang didn't glare bad with my HID kit and yet when I tried it in my Explorer it was horrible. It could have been the 9004 vs 9007 housing, I don't know. I'm just saying that you really need to take a look as it can be nasty to be blinded by an HID kit like that. I don't mean to come off as a jerk, don't get me wrong. I think they look great in your truck. I'm just saying that it would be a wise idea to take a look and see.

Do you want some? I'll send you all of mine. One catch though, you gotta take this wicked cold weather with it.

I know where you're coming from... glare is the reason I've held out on getting these for so long... from what I've seen and read on various forums this kit and these housings produce a decent cutoff.

I certainly don't want to be a jerk and blind the crap out of anybody, if its too much I'll honestly take 'em out.
