I like the question. The trip computer on my ride says 14.5 same speeds as yours.

I usually get that mileage (13-14) around town and 17-18 on the highway at 70mph. My computer tells me that I am getting 0.5 to 1 MPG better than I actually am.

I just filled up Sat as the station I get fuel now has B20 and I wanted to try it( in addition to B10). Quick hand calc I got @ 10, mostly around town, short trips. Damned mileage just keeps going down since I installed those 5" stacks! $3.57/ gal B20, $3.46 B10

I am in a heavier Excursion 6.0 diesel 3.73's and at 65-70 I will be getting 19-21 mpgs. Last November I drove from Durango CO to Phoenix AZ at 82 mph and got 20.2mpgs hand calculated. Believe me I was surprised, I even re-figured the numbers and it was right! Usually I get just under 20 so who knows. I do run Diesel Kleen and a straight piped exhaust??

You should see 14 if you keep it below 65. That is what I get stock.

06 F250 4X4 LARIAT FX4 CC PSD: Completely stock

On a maiden road trip with my recently purchased truck, traveled between 65-68 mph with the cruise control on the interstate; computer showed just over 18 mpg. After getting on secondary roads at considerably lower speeds, it went up to 20 mpg.

My lie-o-meter hasn't gotten above 8.6 mpg. Thats why I need to hand-calc and add an extra tenth per mile to total miles. I have gotten @ 13.5-14 empty, @ 12 towing a couple quads & trailer

Yes 37x13.5-18 Pro Comps. Fuel mileage isn't a huge deal, I have a company truck I use and only use the big truck on week-ends. I got it mid- May and only put @ 2500 miles on it. What really kills my fuel mileage is the sweet sound coming from those 5" Aussies!

Just made a long trip on 4 and 2 lane highway and got 16.8. I have an 06 with 28500 miles on it. Kept my speed at 69 on the 4 lane and 60 on the 2 lane. I also use stanadyne perf formula. Should be better in the summer with good diesel instead of the winter blend. Also have a Diablo predator set on fuel economy.

I have 32k on my 04 and am averaging around 14.5, mixed City/Hwy driving. I did expect a little more. Other threads have talked about how the flashes have actually caused mpg to go down..and your oil condition can ahve quite a bit to do with it to. Since I jsut bought the truck 4 weeks ago, I calculate every tank. I have 3 gallons of Amsoil full synth 15w40 ont he way and we'll see if she gets any better.

As for additives, my 7.3 got better mileage, and I used Diesel Kleen religiously and noticied it did help, although the doubling in winter really irked me a little. Currrently I am trying the Ford additive, but really see no gain from it over Diesel kleen at the same price. I ahve also used Stanadine in my 7.3 and it did ok. Diesel kleen seemd to have the most noticeable difference.

I did run B20 for a little while and I noticed and improvement in mpg. it was also .10 less per gallon. I ahve since moved and no B20 around where I am that I have found yet.

One last thing..check your tire pressure, especially since it has been so cold lately. I know everyone here is very thorough, but a 10lb difference can mean noticeable MPG loss, so I thought I would throw that out there.

Cheers!
