Why is it that all dealerships are not on the same page? I had to call 3 dealerships to find one willing to recalibrate my truck for a tire change when I finally have the money for the new set. I mean really! One flat out denied it can be done, the other claimed since it wasn't a factory option for my year for my truck it couldn't be done. The third dealership said come on in we do it all the time. $45 to do it. All I want is to go from 265's to 285's. Not like it is a huge step!
Then the first two dealerships flat out refused to mount that size tire on the factory 7" rims. Yes I know they want a minimum of 7.5", but the third dealership had no quirks nor does any tire shop I called.
So I guess it does pay to shop around and to always get multiple opinions. If it were not for this website and reading about guys doing what I want done I might have not pursued trying after the second "no". Thanks FTE it really helps to have this forum for insight and ideas.
Myt truck had 285's on it when i bought it, i asked if the computer was recalibrated
and after a look at it the dealer said no and said it wasn't really critical bc the difference was less than 1 mph off...
Just my experience..
