Hi
I have a 1989 F-150 with a 300-6 engine and would like to mount a Autometer water temp guage. I just want a single guage and would like some info on where to mount inside cab and how is the best way to get wire inside the cab. Also electric hook up? I know a lot of questions but I'd like to cut down on the learning curve some! Thanks!
best way to get wire inside of cab is tru the PArk brake cable hole.. look for it its under there besides the EEC somewhere.. and i mounted mine here i like it becuase it looks kind of stock and hidden...
electric hook up :
get your 12V for the guage from your fuse box
and ground anywhere you can find a GOOD ground
lights:
i got mine 12v for the light from the ashtray's light it comes on with the dashlights
and i used the same ground
You can hook up some of the wires to the fuse panel.I'm not sure which ones due to i don't have a aftermarket water gauge...If you don't want to drill a hole in the dash than you have several different pod options...

Hi Gentlemen,
Thanks for the pics DJ!!! Very nice of you. I've been running around on the Internet and called Autometer about mounting solutions and they make a double guage pod for the trim next to the windshield, for an 89 truck! I might go ahead and put in an oil pressure guage with the water temp. Still looking for info! Thanks to all!

for the 12V ive already posted...
hmm i comes with a sender and you install that where the old sender is.. but i replaced the old sender with the one from the autometer one .. so my stock dash guage doesnt work, only the aftermarket one... you can make a T fitting and fit both... its up to you..
the sender is behind the distributer on the driver side you cant miss it
