I have a '69 Ranchero with a hood that appears to have a different angle of lip on the front edge than the headlight eye-brow angle. I just bought car and am wondering if maybe a different year hood was put on it that is not quite the same.

1968/69 hoods are the same.
Look at the hood nose moulding...that's where the front edge problem lies.
The moulding is in two pieces, the outer is anodized aluminum, the inner moulding is painted body color.
Someone damaged both pieces of moulding and only replaced the outer one.
You've replied to me on both of my only posts. Thanks, you've been helpful.
Basically, are you saying they come in 2 pieces? A base piece (painted body color) and then an anodized aluminum on top of that one? That seems strange, why not just cast it as one piece instead of two... one of Ford's "better ideas" I guess.

That's exactly the way they came, 2 pieces...one painted, one anodized:

1965/72 Ford Passenger Car Parts Catalog / Hood & Related Parts ~ Illustration Section 166 / Page 7 / 2nd of two illustrations.
The above catalog is available on a CD from hipoparts.com / also sold on ebay / the price is about $25.00.
Why have a two piece moulding?
Automakers are all in the partsbiz, where their REAL profits come from, not from vehicle sales.
The more parts they sell, the more profits they make.
