71 4x4 steering shaft
hello ,
I have a 71 f-100 4x4 with a 76 f-150 4x4 power steering box . I am replacing worn double D slip shaft and U-Joints and want to replace it with a 3/4 solid shaft from new U-Joint to U-Joint . Will this work ok or will it bind during the shaft rotation? I am looking to get rid of any wear points that slack can appear in the steering

u joints
I replaced mine when i went to power steering in my '72 4WD. If yours is like mine, a straight shaft will make for a fairly low steering wheel setup. With a new u joint, it will be like new. Lots of places to find one, but check www.yogisinc.com.Page 40 of their catalog has some directions and helpful hints on installs.
