The t-case on my truck (7.3, 6-spd, ESOF) is not shifting out of 4x4. I can hear the gear motor clicking but it won't go out. It shifts between 4-high and 4-low fine.
I have read that you can shift it manually, how do you do this? Do you have to pull the gear motor out, or is there something on the exterior that you can turn?
When I go to replace this, is it just the plastic piece underneath or do I get to replace the whole plate on the drivers side of the case?
While I am doing this I have always wanted the manual shifter for the t-case, is this a big deal to do or is it more trouble than it is worth?
