I currently have stock manifolds but i removed the Y-pipe and cats. It's true duals all the way back. When I had them done the mechanic told me about a new muffler called the V-force? said it was better then the flowmaster. I allowed him to do it. worst decision I ever made the thing sounds like a rice burner at anything above 2,000 rpm. any suggestions on a good muffler and header set-up?
sounds like your 16 year old son knows a good pun when he see's one. lol
by the way I'm running 2.5 inch pipe all the way back till it gets to the rear axle then it drops down to 2 inch(don't ask) They were supposed to keep the tips not the whole back half. but I had it done In Michigan my home town on a vacation. Now I'm back home In New Orleans, LA. No planned trips untill christmas warranty expired gotta get it fixed when I switch mufflers
The V force muffler is just a cheapy flowmaster knock-off.
If you want dual exhaust a single 3" duall 2.5" muffler is what you want. I have no clue why the exhaust shop would botch your exhaust and neck it down like they did. The stock exhaust is all 3" from behind the y-pip.
Original owner put a Y pipe behind the stock muffler. with some cool tips. I asked them to use the tips. they used the whole back half. Prolly just misunderstanding and them wanting to get away with using less pipe and doing it cheaper. It rattles a little bit when It's cold too, so I think It's an all around crappy job
Right now when I start my truck next to a car I set off the alarm. which is kinda cool IMO. But I really just want a nice DEEP growl. The louder the better as long as it doesn't sacrifice the deep sound.
It is in the shop getting the motor rebuilt now and I'm having the pipes fixed.
You can look in my gallery for pics of the exhaust I have on my truck now and what I used to have on.
A single 3" exhaust is a good setup as well for the V10. Most if not all aftermarket cat-back exhausts are quiet. I have the Flowmaster Force 2 kit on now and its a good value for the $$$. Paid $203 shipped from autoanything.
I'm going to swap out my FM70 muffler for an 18'" bodied Magnaflow for more sound and flow. I like the way the FM 50 SUV sounds on my dads truck. The FM50 SUV has a fairly large body at 5" thick x 17" long but it still has a little bark to it.

I had the FM catback on my 05 and it came with a 70 muffler. I liked it but wanted more sound so I ordered a FM50 Delta (three or so different 50 mufflers) and it sounds much better. It's 5" shorter than the 70 so I got a 7" long piece of pipe to use as an extention of which 2" or so goes into the muffler, the other 5" makes up the difference. One end 3" OD the other 3" ID. Sold the 70 muffler for almost as much as the new 50 cost me.
