Looking for more info.
Hello, I just got a 76 f-150. I have always wanted a project truck.
I done a lot of googling and have found that according to the vin I have a:
1976
F150 - 4x2 pickup
8cyl, 360ci, 2bbl
assembled in Norfolk
I think thats pretty good info research for somone thats never done this before, but I would like to learn more. Looking on the drivers door I found a tag that has this:
WB=135
COLOR=SP
TYPE/GVW=F150
BODY=EB4
TRANS=G
AXLE=14J
MAX LBS.=06050
DSO=1976 22
I know that some of this is simple to figure out, but like I said, I've never done this before. I would like to learn as much as I can about this truck so I can do a full restore, witch I plan to do my self.
P.S. What is the difference between a flareside and styleside.

This is the info it gave me:
Transmission: The only information provided is Automatic. My guess is C6
Front Axle: w/P.S.
Rear Axle: 3.00 3750lb Ford
So if I were to look for part, these are the numbers I will need.

Welcome to FTE....May I suggest, (if you haven't already), take a look at FTE sponser sites for parts on your project particularly Blue Oval Truck Parts, National Parts Depot, Broncograveyard, Macs Auto Parts, Mikes Truck Salvage, Auto Krafters, etc. Good Luck with your project and have fun. Also, if you haven't already, maybe create a gallery so we all may see your truck and the progress. Pics also help determine some of the technical information that you may have when you are restoring your truck.
