I'm looking to put a cold air intake in my 95' F350 powerstroke. I would also like to do something about the down pipe for the exhaust. I need a suggestion for a good cold air intake and I need to know where to get it. I should be able to install that. From what I understand, I probably won't be able to do the down pipe so I'll need suggestions and instructions. How big of a down pipe can I fit in my truck?
You will find that a cold air in take will not do much for you. You don't have an intercooler unless you or a previous owner, added one. There is a link in my signature to a low cost air filter mod.
Read read read, all the info in the world is in these forums.
The 6637 mod is pretty popular among users for an intake on this thread. Pretty cheap for a good intake.
As for the dp, your gonna need a sawzall and some patience. You also have to bend the seam of the firewall a little bit to get that 3" pipe in there. Nothing to difficult.
I'll second Dale at Tymar. http://www.tymarperformance.com/
Call him, he can set you up with intake, downpipe, and full exhaust. He's the Tymar that everyone copies with the DIY 6637 intakes.
thanks for the link, without it I had no idea who dale was or what tymar is. I'll call him on Monday and get the stuff coming in the mail. Much appreciated.
Here's my setup. It started out as a AFE stage II but I sold the filter element and went with the NAPA 6637. Stay away from the K&N style elements or you could dust your turbo. The only reason I decided to use the airbox is to try and keep a lot of the NM dust off the filter.
