If you have a tow package you should be prewired. There should be a harness and a relay in the glovebox. The harness get plugged in here:
(under drivers side dash)
Mine has the harness plugged in. The other end of the harness gets spliced into the harness for your brake controller. The relay will go into the fuse panel to supply 12 volt power to the 7 pole trailer plug in the back of the truck, this will recharge the battery in the trailer for your electric brakes. If you do not have the harness it can be picked up at the dealer for about $14, and the relay can be bought from the dealer or a parts store. I got mine from advance auto parts for $9.88 in stock. It is GP Sorensen part #MR76 or you can take this to your local store and have the number cross referenced.
