OK Explorer owners.
Please can you just drop in your screen name and location here- I am interested in getting a meet on being a member of another Explorer forum also it would be great if we could combine members and have a fantastic meet soon!!!!
Starting with the Explorer- I have replaced all the oils and fluids, new poly sway bar bushes for front and back, new droplinks, replaced both rear arc shocks, brake pads all round, and done the oom12 kit job- this summer, that will have to hold till next summer now on to the work- been recording with my band and have posted some sounds here-

I have some time now so intend to be here more as the UK rep!
NIce to be back again.
It has 8" x 16" Cobra wheels from formula4.co.uk and I've recently fitted 265/70R16 112T Bridgestone Dueler A/T 694 tyres. These wheels have a zero offset compared to the OE wheels which had a 1" offset so the track is increased 2" which definately improves stability.
Explorer brakes are not good by Euroean standards so I took the advice contained in this forum and sourced some goog replacements. I got cryogenically treated slotted rotors all round from nitrac.co.uk and new Hawk ceramic pads from cambridgemotorsport.com and these have really improved the braking performance. They weren't as expensive as I expected.
I am interested in your mods and would like to know where you got your poly bushes. What is the oom12 kit job?
The oom12 kit is the replacement of the intake manifold seals as the old ones harden and lead to lean bank codes Po174 and 173 causing poor start issues, also it includes the front or right hand bank tensioner bolt- an aid to stopping the known rattle from the timing chains and the resulting chain break or jump that wrecks these sohc engines. I have since also done the rear or left band tensioner also. Removal of the drivers wheel arch RHD only will show the tensioner bolt, above the rear spark plug.
You will need a 27m socket, 3/4 inch drive and a very long extension to make your life easy- its in well tight! be sure to use your old washer or you will have huge oil leaks!
I have added an egr bonnet guard in smoked grey- looks good on my dark green Northface and also a K&N induction kit.
Just replaced my Exhaust- Kwickfit, and managed to get the price down from £260 to £150- working the fact that they have a lot of competition in my area and- well........... I massaged that fact!
Oh I also have replaced front and rear pads with stock stoppers, but would upgrade next time with green stuff and slotted drilled disks too- NIce!!!
Post some pics of your EX mate- would love to see her!
