Hi all new to fourms-powerstroke-diesel.
My problem is when i shut off my truck the key does not come out unless i push up on the shifter lever. What could cause this problem?
I just went out and tried to pull my key out with pressure on the gear shifter and it would not come out.Let it release in park and key came right out. Tells me something needs to be adjusted with the gear shifter. Goodluck!
I have the exact same prob.. the dealer was no help to me so I have lived with it for 270k(intermittant problem, maybe 1 out of 3 shutoffs). I will definately watch this thread
Look up under the dash for the end of the shift lever. There is a fastener (torx head I believe) you should be able to tighten up. If you let this get too loose you'll end up having to hold the lever up in park to get the truck to start.

Thanks Chris. I found two torx {t30} not shure if the correct ones. Not loose but one did move a bit. And like run6.0run only sticks now and then. Will see if this helps.
