hi i have been looking for a rebuilt efi 460 for awhile now and havn't had much luck.....
i however did find a rebuilt 1987 CARBED motor without heads for sale and am wondering if i could but my efi heads on that motor im sure i could but i just wanted to make sure that the pistons weren't shaped different or somthing thanks.
yes you can bolt your efi heads on there, no the pistons aren't shaped different and the valve angles and cant are the same so the valve reliefs are the same.
sure, only issue will become pushrod length on early (prior to 1971 MY) blocks but even then not by much. With EFI the cams might become an issue of coarse, and you won't be able to use your late model flywheel on a 1978 and earlier block (78 earlier are internal balance, 1979 later are external) but the heads will fit and work.
