Mornin' fellow Forders, I just purchased a 93 F150 5.0 4X4 with dual tanks. I'm currently running on the aux tank because the thing will not switch tanks. The fuel gauge moves when the internal switch is flipped but shows the front tank as empty, which is not true because I just spent $40 dollars to partially fill the tank.
The engine stalls just like it is out of fuel, so I was thinking that it was the tank solenoid gone bad, but I do not know where the solenoid is located to test it.
Thanks for the responses, however can someone help me in locating the solenoid?

There is not any solenoid in your fuel system.
You have a pump in each tank and selected by the switch on the dash.
You have a bad in-tank pump or a bad switch on the dash.
i dont know about 1993's but i have and 89 and my fuel pump is mounted on my frame right below my drivers door. it might be in there or it could be in the line from the fuel pump to the switch
In either '91 or '92, Ford switch from a 2-pump system (low pressure in tank, high on frame, 2 low and one high if dual tank) to a one-pump system (high pressure pump in each tank.
