When I first bought my truck and driving along and would let off of the skinny pedel the truck felt like it was "Free Wheeling" That has all changed.
Now when I let off of the fuel it feels like a gasser and has back pressure. The only thing that I have done to the tranny was to have the fluid changed.
It does not matter if the OD is on or off. I tried touching the brakes but that doesn't change anything.
The odd part of this is I can't really tell you when this started/changed. Hmmmmm
Coast Clutch is for engine braking.
You would have to watch in a scan to see what is going on.
If the TC is locked you will feel more engine braking until a min unlock mph is reached or brakes applied.
If you tap the brake you should feel the TC unlock if it is locked.
But for the hell of it check all your brake lights.
What you describe sounds like it didnot work and now it does.
Strange. Mine would do as you state and was a burned coast clutch.
From ford the stack was to loose. But the van would roll forever with the bad coast clutch.
