i just finished rebuilding an old holley carb that m grandpa had lying around when i discovered that a part was broken and I have yet been able to order one or even find out what the heck it is.
It hangs down into the barrel of the carberuator and the gas comes out of it. its a shaft with a round donut at the end. can someone please tell me what this is and where i could find a replacement.
I also have tried to no avail to find out what size this thing is. the numbers stamped into the carb are 0351
list-6191
could someone please tell me how big it is i need to know if its enough to power my 400.
The broken part you're looking at is called the booster venturi and as far as I'm aware it's not available as a seperate part. It's where the A/F mixture enters the venturi during cruise thru WOT operation.
Holley doesn't list a 6191 part number. They do list a 6919 which is a 600 CFM 4160 vac. sec. model.
My Holley book says a List 6191 came on 1971 Mopar 383's and it shares the same rebuild kit as most Holley 4bbl. carbs used by Chrysler from 1968 to 1972, so the main body of the carbs should be similar.Your best bet is to keep an eye out at the swap meets for a parts carb or on ebay as people sometimes sell them cheap if they break an ear off the base.
