The problem was when I start my truck up in the cold mornings, it starts fine and runs at a decent idle (low but idles) when I put into gear (auto drive) the rpm's shoot up, a few hundred rpms, any how I drive it around till warm and go to put it into park it dies, so I replaced the IAC (idle air control) but it still does the same thing, so what next would be in line to check/replace? I have a 89' f250 with a EFI 460 and an unadjustable timing system (so im told it does it automatically by the readings and comp).
This all started happening after I did the tune up (including a new O2 sensor) and no did'nt disconnect the battery after installing the IAC (was I supose to?) Will try it and see what happens. So any other ideas if that does'nt do the trick?
I thought motorcraft and autolite were the same thing. I have always ran motorcraft or autolite platinum plugs in my truck. Its got 250K miles on it and I've probably put in new plugs about 4 times. The very first time I changed them, I put in the regular motorcraft plugs. It ran fine, but they didn't last but about 15-20 K miles. I don't want to have to fool with them that often. I've never had a single problem and they last longer than the regular plugs. I have heard though that alot of people prefer the regular motorcraft plugs. Stay the hell away from all the types of Bosch plugs though.

My bad, I have got to remember when replaceing parts that have a plug on them, that I have to DISCONNECT THE BATTERY and reset the computer, once I did that and drove it around, enough time for the computer to recaliprate the system. Thanks ya'll
for your input, it's working like it should now.
