I am considering buying a Superduty F250 in the next few months, and was wondering about curb weights. Some of the listed numbers I've come across seem to be vary a bit.
What is the curb weight for:
2008 F250 FX4 5.4L AUTO 4X4 142" wheelbase
2008 F250 FX4 5.4L AUTO 4X4 158" wheelbase
If anybody has driven the two, do they compare similarly for power and fuel economy, and handling?
The 142" is HEAVY and the 158" is HEAVIER Power is the same for both, except for the slight difference in weight which you won't notice. Fuel economy and handling will be better with the longer wheelbase (ever so slightly) since a longer vehicle creates less air resistance.
I was curious about my truck and weighed it last week. 08 f250 Lariat supercab, diesel, manual, short bed, Jason fiberglass cap. Full fuel tank with me in it (150lbs)- 8300lbs.
My fuel milage runs 16 in town 21 highway. Great ride and handles quite well. I get nothing but compliments.
2008 F-350 4X4 CC LWB 6.4. According to Ford's MSO (manufacturer's statement of origin) my truck weighs 7340 lbs dry. I've added Reunel's Extreme Duty front and rear bumpers, ~400 lbs. Knaack model 60 toolchest~200 lbs plus a small winch inside chest. Not sure what the rest of the stuff in the chest would add up to, trailer hitch, tool bag, full set of chains etc., maybe another 400 lbs. The truck with a full tank of fuel (~300 lbs) w/o passengers is 9140 lbs. I have almost another 1000 lbs unaccounted for. Maybe the MSO weight doesn't include the diesel motor. I'm sorry I didn't weight the truck bone stock.
