I think the intake on the tech site works OK, it's just not very attractive.
Could you use the top of the 5.0 intake and just fabricate a lower half?
What throttle body are you using? I was thinking a TB from a 351 or 460 EFI would be less expensive than buying an aftermarket one for the 5.0.

I've read both of those as well, I'm not very keen on building my own ECM though.
One of the most appealing things about building my own manifold is the cost, it only takes a few dollars of steel, and it's very light as well.
The throttle body is one of my few concerns, since I don't feel like buying a new one, and I don't think the stock 5.0 will be quite big enough
