I have a 1995 f150 4x4 and the "off" light is flashing on the shift lever.
Everythings still seems to work. However went to autozone to get a code
read and the guy could not find the plug for the code reader. Any idea's
would be appreciated........thanks
The diagnostic connector is located under the hood on the driver side inner fender by the firewall and cowel. Its at the top. It has a 4 pin connector and a single pin connector.
Thank you, I ask him if it might be under the hood and said "no way".
Thanks again for your help
He was probably looking for the ODB2 port which is usually below the steering column. On my 95 Bronco the plug is six sided - like a squashed school zone sign - and hangs from its wires between the brake master cylinder and the drivers side wheel well. Since your truck is a 95 you will need a Ford ODB1 scanner or a paper clip to get the codes out.
I guess I'm too ADHD to count light blinks because I could never pay close enough attention to decipher the flashes. I got an Equus code 3145 for $30 that I keep in the truck.
Mprice is right it is like a crooked stop sign, and it does have 6 pins, but the tester only uses 4, and the single wire. If I'm not mistaken I think that only 4 pinouts are actually used in the connector.
