lol...no kidding. i managed to **** them off with only 700watts of RMS power... 5000 should just about make them skip the country. thanks for the idea!!

in the mid 90's I had a 1976 Dodge Royal Sportsman Ext. I had a Kenwood CD player, and 8 Pioneer 1000w amps, 2 20" Dr. Krankenstein subs, 2 15" Dr Krankenstein Subs, and 2 10" Dr. Krankenstein Subs, 6 6x9" JVC as my mids, and 15 tweeters. my total output was 8500watts, my RMS was 6200watts.

I use to take it out to most of the sound-off's but because Big Blue was so damn ugly, she rarely won much, except when I opened the back doors, and the 2x20's dropped down. Turn the mids down, and the bass up, and watch the walls vibrate..

If you rode with me, you wore ear protection. No one rode for free

I sold the Van in 2000 for $600, I paid $500 for the van in 1992, and I sold the Sound equipment in 99 for $15,000. I bought the sound gear in 95 When south Seattle Sound went out of business, for probably 1/3 of what it was worth.

I'm 80% deaf in my left ear, because of loud music, just not from the Van. When I drove it, the volume rarely went above 5, and 6 of the 8 amps were turned off, and most of the speakers were disconnected as well.

the most i've had was about 2500 through 3-10's. that was enough. when i sell my current equipment, i'm done. no more.

Must be a pretty nice system! All I have in my living room is an old amp, then a last years model sony surround sound system.

The old school amp and speakers pound pretty good though, they would probably rattle my mobile apart!
