i've checked and just can't figure out why my fuel system is loosing it's prime. it doesn't do it all the time. i backed up one time and it lost prime and it set for a day without starting it and it lost prime. had to bleed the system everytime any ideas? 85 f350 with a swapped in 7.3. i thought i had it with a loose clamp but it has reappered but not as often.
You possibly have a bad fuel pressure regulator. Or you may have a hole in one of your return lines. There are hundreds of possibilties. Can you see a leak after it primes up? There also is the possibilty that the pump is bad.
changed the pump and all the lines on the engine can't see any fuel leaking through any of the lines. replace all the o rings on the injectors, i just haven't found all the leaks yet. i think i had several. thanks for the help.
That really sucks. Hope you get everything sorted out. You are doing it the right way though. to replace the whole sysytem with new linesis very smart. It keeps you from ever having to do it again for the most part, and you can rule that out as probable cause for other situations.
Return line leaks can be a pain. Air can get in places that don't show any fuel leaking out. When tou replaced the caps and O rings did you push the caps down until they made a snap sound or felt them snap on?
