I`m a tree hugger and have to have trees close to our house on this hill top.
I must have planted or transplanted dozens here as well as the native trees that popped up once we moved the house into this part of the yard.
Evergreens are my favorite but all trees take a lot of water during the dry years we had. I was ready to set up an irrigation system just before we started getting more rain and some snow. I didn`t mind hauling water but it did take some time to do it.
Im gonna get a whole bunch more trees out here too. Can never have to many, and I would like to get a little more of a full sqaure around the yard here.
Be sure to keep the trees a little ways from the driveway so the snow doesn`t get piled onto it from the wind.
One of my neighbors planted trees almost on top of their driveway, I can just imagine what will happen in 4-5 years from now.....They`ll be plowing it out hourly during windy periods.
Yeah out here someone has one row of trees pretty close to the driveway too. the good thing is they are carraganas (no idea how to spell that one) and they are going to be replaced anyways.
