i need some advice. well i just bought a f350 and i had it about two weeks running great. well they said there was bad diesel going around my state so i went to the next state over. well soon as i got gas it wouldnt start. but eventually it did. well i had the problem again so i had the fuel filters changed. well that worked for about 4 hours then it started to die and blow heavy amounts of smoke out the exhaust. just wondering if you have any advice out there on what this could be. thanks
It sounds like your EGR valve is stuck or needs cleaning or your turbo veins are sticking. I'd pull the EGR valve and clean it with CARB. cleaner (not brake cleaner) and reinstall it. If that doesn't help it may be the turbo veins sticking. If you're under the 5yr/100K mileage mark it's still under warranty.
well i had it looked at. right now they are saying cylinders 3 and 5 have failed. and the smoke was a white color. does that mean the injectors have failed? thanks
