my truck a 96 f 250 hd 4x4 i am looking at some used tires on rims but im not sure if they will fit.its 8 lug like mine but not all are the same right?is there a chart online someplace i can look up chevy and ford bolt patterns to see if there the same the rims and tires im lookin at are off an old chevy 1 ton from the mid 70s but from the looks of it the guy bought them in the last 2 years..i know 85 to 97 are the same with ford but what about old chevys from the 70s?.where can i find this info out?thanks
from at least 73-97 Ford 3/4 and 1 tons should all have 8x6.5" bolt pattern.
Most older chevy and dodge 3/4 and 1 tons should have the same 8x6.5" pattern, but I'm not sure on the years.
what they said about lug patterns but on another note...
double check the hub opening (center hole). ford uses the largest hubs and wheels from a chevy may not fit on a ford. usually that is just chevy stock wheels but dont make that mistake! i had to use a grinder on a set of trim the inner hole.
thanks for the info all.wow you used a grinder on some rims well at least you made them fit.how long did it take you to grind all 4 down?...ps the guy said the rims came off an old 73 chevy 1 tone i hope they fit i can get a good deal if they do or ill have to grind them down a little, must of been a tiny grinder you used to fit in the hole.all i gotta do i get some lug nuts for them..ever notice when you but used rims with tires no one ever has the lug nuts.whats up with that?

I agree, the Chevy uses a smaller hub for whatever reason. Bring a tape measure, you need 3" on a Ford at a min. Dodge rims will usually fit a Ford. Check to make sure the B/S is 50/50 or under 4" or they will rub on your truck.
the best way to see if they will fit is to try one on, and make sure it fits flush with the drum.
i bought a set of tires and rims off a dodge a few years ago, and the only thing i had was a set of old Chevy rims. i had to cut 1/4 inch all the way around the center flanges of the rims with an oxy acetylene torch to make them fit on the dodge.
the dodge had a tree fall on it and crush it, so they only needed the wheels on it to move it around the farm to steal parts off it.
