Fender

I have 1950 F1 which I am trying to rebuild. It is amazing how much time I wasted as a youngster when my Dad had the truck. Recently, I noticed that there is about a 1/16 gap between the front fenders and the body of the truck. Sounds like I need to tighten something up! Any advice???

Joker,

Only a gap of about a 16th? heck you're doing good. I've seen gaps of up to about 1/2" (my truck as about 3/8") Originally there is a large piece of welting that takes up the gap.

Big deal! I used to be able to put my fingers between the fender and hood so I could lift it. 1/16" is a fully matched panel. Quit your whining!

(Oh, and yes, they have welting for that gap, like Bobby said.)

A 1/16 gap sounds like you have an exceptionally fine truck to me.
