super hard start...

super hard start...

my buddies ole 96 stroker has a big starting problem. his GP's dont work after a new set of GP's and a GPR. it clicks, but his light is very fast, just kinda blinks. he ethers it ever morning. and says it rolls black smoke. he thinks ether is ok cause his gp'sdont work. whats some things to check? i figured it may be the GP harness

Just cause the light blinks and the truck don't start doesn't mean his GP's aren't working! You need to test the GP relay with a test light or volt meter to see if its really working.

could also be the inj. o-rings too right?

maybe but if it starts fine when warm its not ipr or injector o-rings.

starts fine hot, so thats what made me think something with either oil or GPs

More than likely its a GP problem but maybe not that they aren't working at all. Weak batteries can cause the GP's not to heat enough. bad connections among other things can be the problem. I would test the relay with a test light and make sure with the key on both large terminals have battery power.

I agree with TJ, sounds like it has a bad lead, like the GPR realy might be good, but actuator wire may be broke or not getting a good signal. Also, stay away from ETHER, bad bad bad.........

you getting voltage drop on the gauge? does it try to fire, or just turn over without a hint of fire in a cylinder?
